AUSTIN ALEGEH, SAN: NIGERIA HAS HELPED OTHERS BUT NO ONE IS HELPING HER

We are a nation that has been reduced to the extent that even if we sell oil at $50, they will not sell us guns and we are in the middle of insurrection.

We have provided soldiers and invested our resources in peace keeping efforts in Liberia, Sierra Lone, Angola, Bosnia, all over the world, but we have no peace-keeping force coming here.

The only boys the Americans sent here stayed in a hotel. They did not even cross to Kaduna, talk less of Yola. We have no help. Not only do we not receive help, we cannot buy arms.

Our country is reduced to dealing with Lebanese middle men to buy arms and ammunition, yet we are approaching a very critical period of election.

In less than three months, we will be voting under these circumstances. We should know that we are confronted as a nation with many challenges.

We must know that at times like this, lawyers must stand wherever they are and speak up. If you do not speak up, we are doomed.
